No more monkeys....

Well he wasn't jumping on the bed but he was standing on a chair, but he did fall off and he did bump his head. Very hard, and as any parent knows head injuries are very scary. With trauma to the head it is recommended to keep the victim awake for the next two hours.

As my luck would have it he did it 5 minutes before bedtime. Did he plan this? Nah, he is just a typical 2 1/2 year old. So instead of in bed by 8pm he got to party it up until 10pm. After 9pm I had to work at keeping him awake. He was ready for his "sleeps" as he calls it. Well I finally let him go to sleep, and I had called into the pediatrician right after he got hurt and I was told to wake hom once an hour and see if he could answer a simple question. (Note: This was an on call ped. not my normal one)

Well 11pm rolled around and I woke him and asked him who was on his blanket. He stared at me like I was weird and then said "Bizz Lightyear!" laid back down and was asleep within seconds. I decided if I had to do this all night I would just put him in my bed. By the 4am wake up call I was tired and pissy, he was ticked at me and I had run out of good questions.

So 4am I wake him as best as I can and point to my sleeping husband and say who is that. To which I get the reply "Daddy" He lays back down and is fast asleep again. Then 5am comes and I wake him and ask him who I am, He gives me a death look and says very clear and angry "I'm not like you, you wake me up, I'm not say you name is" I figured he was fine after that and quit waking him.

This morning by 7am he was wide awake singing his ABC's and trying to stick his toes into my ear. I on the other hand have been dragging my butt around all day.

Welcome to Mommy and Monkeys!
